Does this experience sound familiar to you?
You buy a doll.
Anxiously await for her arrival.
And the moment she’s in your hands, it’s love at 1st sight.
You find the perfect place to display her so that every time you walk by, she puts a smile on your face.
If only this feeling would last forever, but sometimes the spark disappears.
If this experience has ever happened to you, it’s normal and to be expected with any hobby.
To help you reconnect with your doll, we’ve created this list of fun activities to help bring the spark back.
And if you know in your heart that you will never reconnect with your doll, we have a suggestion to help you part ways, guilt free.
1. Change Your Doll’s Point of View
Has your doll been in the same spot for ages?
If so, it's time to shake things up.
Try moving your doll to a different location.
And while you’re at it, why not change the hands and give her a new pose.
I like to place a different doll on my desk each month.
2. Dioramas: Dolly Tiny Living
Building a diorama for your doll is a rewarding experience.
You'll feel amazing when the tiny world you worked so hard to create is complete.
And the sense of accomplishment, will strengthen your love for your doll.
3. Photography: Capture Dolly Moments
Do you own a phone or camera?
If so, try photographing your doll for a few days and see how many cute pics you can snap.
Not only is photography a creative outlet but it’s also a great way to reestablish the bond between you and your doll.
You could even start a Instagram account, dedicated to your dolls to help you stay motivated and creative.
4. New Hair Style = New Doll?
If your doll’s wig can easily be replaced, try giving her a new hairstyle.
You'll be surprised how a new wig can make a huge difference in your doll’s appearance.
It’s almost like having a new doll.
And hopefully, the new hairstyle will have you falling in love again.
I know this option only applies to certain dolls but don't worry.
If your girl has rooted hair, you too can have fun giving her a different hairstyle.
Are you skilled at braiding hair?
If so, you can apply those skills to her hair.
Dolls with braids, are beyond cute!
I’ve seen images of dolls who went from straight hair to braids . . . .I couldn't believe the dolly transformation.
There’s also the YouTuber, warusonekoワルソネコ, who posted a video demonstrating an up-style hair-do with braids.
You can also try experimenting with doll hair wax or oil spray to give your girl or boy a sleek new look.
5. Write Your Doll’s Story
Do people often tell you that you're a great storyteller?
You can apply that great skill to crafting stories where you’re dolls are the central characters.

Wrapping It Up:
I hope this list helps you reconnect with your doll and the hobby.
However if you tried the suggestions and you still feel disconnected, please know that it's okay to part ways with your doll.
In fact, I'm selling my Stargazer Twilight Sparkle by Integrity Toys.
So, don't ever feel guilty about parting ways.
Instead, think about the joy your doll will bring to another collector.
And isn't that the main point of this fantastic hobby: to enjoy and be happy 🙂
