This Meryl release – all three versions – is a peculiar one for me. Alice books and steampunk and dolls all in one package, that sounds like something tailored exactly to my tastes, yet each of these three dolls has something that makes me pass on them. Either the sad face or the hair color and/or texture.
The first regular release had such a cute face, but I preferred the cooler-toned wavy hair of the Direct Store one. Her face looked sad to me though, so I didn’t get her either. This one also has that sad mouth, so I’ll pass.
However, I absolutely love this combination of light blonde hair and brown eyes (are they brown? The description says bordeaux, but they look brown on both my monitor and phone screen), I think it looks awesome, and if she had smiling mouth, she’d be a perfect Alice-type doll for me.
Whew, what a rant! Sorry! I kinda hate to be this much nitpicky, but I need to do it for my budget.
Also, I agree with Paula.
(Still a super cute doll, though!)
Hi Neon,
At the rate some of these dolls are coming out, you have to be nitpicky.
I know I’m more particular about the dolls coming into my collection these days.
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts about Meryl.
It’s odd they are doing a coordinate set with a doll that’s almost the same one as before! 😶
I agree! One would think they’d go for a different color scheme, or at least different hair color or hairstyle or something. I think she’d be cute with twin-tails.
Hi Paula,
I always wondered how they decided on which character would become a coordinated doll.
Azone says she was well received last year.
Maybe they wanted to give those who missed out another chance to grab her 🤔
It was a pleasure chatting with you.
