If you’ve ever found your nendoroid’s body limited in the poses you can create then you may want to try swapping the original body for a new flexible doll body.
Many collectors of Good Smile Company’s nendoroids are doing this with the help of mini doll bodies on the market.
These alternate bodies are allowing fans to pose their nendoroids in more interesting and fun poses.
If you’ve ever considered upgrading your nendoroid’s body for movability or if you’re curious as to what other bodies are out there for your nendoroid or doll then checkout the list below.

I don’t know if this works for everyone, but I have managed to body swap my old nendoroid head with a very small SH figuarts body (6 inches or less in height) in the past. I had to use a glue gun and the head was hard to place but it worked. These figures don’t really have pegs for the head but the neck can work if the base of the head has a circular opening at the bottom. I don’t know if figmas could be used for body/head swapping. Thank you for the info.

All of my nendos (minus Pooh and Baymax) go onto doll bodies, albeit currently naked but I much prefer the articulation offered with doll bodies. Plus super cute clothes and THE SHOES!!
My favorite body isn’t listed, it’s the Piccodo body 9 & 10. I feel like they aren’t as well known because they’re only produced in Japan. An they release the bodies on like AmiAmi once a year it seems.
Love Obitsu bodies there’s an artist that makes extras so you can turn them into more muscular bodies or more feminine. Which makes me love them even more for certain characters. These again so hard to get a hold of and you have to be super careful because of the illegal counterfeits which I’ve found a lot of people have without knowing and because of this they think Obitsu is the worst body choice.
Although they’re harder to find since being discontinued Cu-Poche bodies are my fav for shorter “chibi” type characters.
Least favorite is the nendoroid doll body, the joints (elbows and knees) are really lacking to me. They also have much smaller feet than other doll bodies, buying shoes takes practice. I have them for height differences and convenience. Plus making pants for them is a pain 🤣🤣
I’ve been eyeing the Disono bodies but haven’t had the chance or need for them yet.
Cu-Poche were so wonderful! I miss them. My current Nendoroid doll is on a Nendoroid doll body but I agree that the articulation is kind of lacking. I think I’m going to put the next one on an Obitsu body. I haven’t tried a PicoNeemo body with a Nendoroid head before but I have some PicoNeemo dolls! What a good idea
Oh no Piccodo 9 & 10 are a different brand from Azone. I have seen people attempt to use the PiccoNeemo P body with nendo heads but there isn’t a true compatibility with the neck pegs. So ultimately the heads are very loose.
Hi Madison,
If you try placing a nendoroid head on a picco neemo body do come back and let us know how it goes.
Thanks for sharing your experience with doll bodies.
