Dear Dolly Friends,
Welcome to Day 1 of the Dolly Sewalong Diaries: Shift Dress by Waffle Patterns.
Today is all about gathering supplies and choosing fabric for our doll.
I downloaded the Shift Dress pattern here, went to my sewing stash for fabric and grabbed a few sewing tools to complete today’s task.
Fabric I chose:
- Outer: Quilting cotton
- Lining: Lawn cotton
Tools I chose:
- Iron
- Tracing Paper
- Tracing Wheel
- Turning Tool (Forceps)
- Pins
- Point Turner
- Scissors
- Fray Check
- Waffle Patterns
- Extra Paper (For machines that “eat” up small pieces of fabric)
- Hook & loop (Not Pictured)

I have some fabric in mind, and since I sew frequently, have the other materials on hand to make the dress.
What I need to do tommorow is resize the pattern since I have a Middie Blythe.gurliebot
