There is something about Spring that makes me feel hopeful and energized.
Maybe it’s because:
- Mother nature is awakening from her slumber
- Birds are chirping and building nest for their young and
- Flowers are beginning to expose their beauty
Everything is coming to life; Spring symbolizes growth.
And in March we’re going to continue growing our dolly sewing skills by featuring Junko Uchiyama aka allnurds and sewing 4 projects.
Our model this month is 8 and he can’t wait to meet you!
Let’s grow our skills together and learn something new this spring!
Who is Junko Uchiyama:
She started making doll clothes in 2001 by using her experience as a women’s outfit pattern designer.
allnurd’s style is a mix of casual, modern and cool.
You will find that her designs often have an asymmetric style to them.
This Month’s Sewing Motto:

Dolly Sewing Crush: allnurds Project #1
The 1st look to kickoff the allnurds sewing fest is a pair of cool Leggings from Doll Coordinate Recipe 13 Casual & Unisex on page 110.
5 steps is all it takes to make these Leggings.
The directions for the Leggings are written in Japanese.
There are no images to go with the directions, only an illustration with numbers that correspond to the steps.

Your Layout For Sewing Success
Steps 1-5 Making the Leggings
Making the leggings was straight forward.
The steps involve sewing the front crotch seam and attaching the elastic to the right side of the leggings to create a waistband.
The leggings pattern had a cutting guide to remove the excess fabric from the waist though this step wasn’t included in the directions.

The final steps include sewing the back crotch seam, matching the front and back crotch and sewing the leggings inseam.

Final Thoughts:
This pattern came together quickly.
You can make many pairs of leggings for your dolls in a variety of colors.
We had a lot of fun creating a legging brand named 8’s Secret.

He looks great in his new leggings! Having said that, Eight and Nine are a little expensive for me. It would be great if you could mention in your next post which sizes of boys are covered in the book. I’ve got Isul and Taeyang, so if there are patterns that would fit them, I’d be very tempted to get the book. Thanks 🙂
Hi Georgia,
8 wants to send his thanks for complimenting his leggings 🙂
The book highlights the following boy dolls:
allnurds clothes tend to be oversized which is a great fit for multiple dolls.
I don’t have a Taeyang or Isul but I tried the clothes on Pullip
Depending on how her body compares to them it maybe a nice fit.
Here is a photo of Pullip modeling. 🙂
Thanks for taking the time to comment!

Yay for boy/unisex clothes! They look very comfy. Boys always tend to get the short end of the stick when it comes to outfits, there’s always less for them to choose from, so sewing for them is a great option!
Also, darn, that 8 is cute! I don’t need to start yet another collection, stop enabling meeeee! xD
Hehe me an enabler . . . never . . . well maybe just a little (*`▽´*)
With more boys coming onto the market hopefully doll companies we’ll make more clothes for them.
Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment about 8, he is very flattered.
