Dolly Sewing Crush: Calalka Project #3

The air is crisper, it’s time to bring fall inside and make some pumpkin pies.

Our adventurous Ruruko is eager get her first pumpkin of the season. But I’m worried  she’ll get her new outfit all dirty.

So in this week’s Dolly Sewing Crush, I’m making her something cute that will cover her clothes and keep them clean.

Come on, I can’t wait to show you.

Dolly Sewing Crush: Calalka Project #3

I was so happy to discover a lovely Apron on page 67 of Doll Coordinate Recipes for New Retro Style.

This adorable Apron comes together in 15 steps.

The Apron pattern fits dolls size:

• 20 – 22 cm
• 22 – 24 cm
• 26 – 29 cm

The directions for the Apron are written in Japanese and include images so you can visually see the step by step instructions.

Your Layout For Sewing Success

Here is your blueprint for making the Apron:

Top Half Of Apron

• Sew front apron & lining right sides together
  • Turn right side out
• Fold left & right back bodice
  • Sew the edges
  • Turn right side out
• Fold top & bottom edges of shoulder strap
  • Fold in half
  • Top stitch
• Glue shoulder straps to the front & back bodice

The Apron Skirt

• Fold the bottom and side edges of skirt
  • Top stitch
• Sew a gather stitch
  • Gather skirt to fit waistband
• Sew skirt to waistband
• Fold waistband over the seam & stitch down
• Glue the bodice to the waistband
• From the front sew the bodice to the waistband
• Attach closures to apron

Whoop-de-doo, the Apron is complete!

Final Thoughts:

Ruruko can’t wait to put her apron to the test.
