Dolly Sewing Crush: F.L.C. Project #4
For the final F.L.C. project we made a stylish Skirt found on page 62 in Easy Doll Coordinate Recipe.
There are 30 steps to complete this look.
This Skirt is an alternative look that uses the Jean pattern instructions found on page 58.
The Skirt pattern fits dolls size:
- 11cm
- 20cm
- 22cm
- 27cm
- 42cm
The directions for the Skirt are written in Japanese and include images so you can visually see the step by step instructions.

Your Layout For Sewing Success
Here is your blueprint for making the Skirt:
The Pockets
- Fold top edge of pockets
- Top stitch two lines
- Fold edges of pockets
- Attach pocket to back skirt
The Skirt Front
- On the left skirt front, (the dolls left) sew 2 lines along the crotch
- On the left & right skirt front, clip & fold pocket curve
- Top stitch 2 lines
- Glue pockets to skirt front at the curve
- On the left skirt front (the dolls left) sew a line parallel to the center front
- Sew a short line perpendicular to previous line
The Skirt
- Sew backs to front skirt
- Hem skirt
- Attach waist band to skirt
- Top stitch 2 lines on the waist band
- Sew back close
- Attach closures to skirt
Woohoo, the Skirt is done!
Final Thoughts:
We attempted to make this skirt 3 times!!! And the 3rd time was a charm.
Both times, our skirt was longer than the waistband.
It wasn’t until the 3rd try that we realized it had something to do with the front pocket alignment.
Once we paid attention to how we angled the pockets, the skirt was the right size for the waistband.
It was frustrating having to start back from the beginning each time, but we got through it and learned a lot.
This is a cool pattern because it looks extremely realistic.
I enjoyed the learning process, bumps and all.
And I know this skirt will be in constant rotation in my dolls wardrobe.
I can’t wait to make leggings to go under the skirt for the colder months. 🙂
Dolly Insider Skill Level Rating:
Advance Friendly
This project can be challenging because accuracy is key to make this skirt come together.
Specifically those tricky front pockets.
There is also a lot of double top stitching which makes this skirt realistic but can be overwhelming if you’re just starting to sew for dolls.

And That’s A Wrap!
We had such a fun time highlighting F.L.C and we hope you enjoyed seeing the looks ranging from:
- a mod One Piece Dress
- a comfy Parka
- a causal T-shirt and
- a stylish Skirt
If you have any questions or want to see a particular pattern please leave a comment below!
And I have a question for you:
Have you sewn an outfit or made any project for your doll this month, if so what did you make and how was the process?
If you haven’t, that’s okay, what projects do you want to make for your doll?
Okay talk to you soon in June! 🙂

I’ve been sewing for dolls on and off for many years, sporadically. So in total not that long. But i would like to make a collection of outfits from one big patterned piece of fabric, but I don’t know where to start. Thinking 4 different outfits.
Hi Anna K,
On that is a wonderful idea!
I love that you’ve come up with a fun sewing challenge of using one piece of fabric.
What type of fabric is it; knit, cotton etc?
Do you see this fabric being used for clothes, cute accessories or both?
We would love to stay updated on your progress, please keep us posted.
Thanks for stopping by our dolly sewing corner. 🙂

Ooh, I can see why your dolls love this one! It’s such a stylish, classic looking piece, they can’t not look great in it! The combination of burgundy and pink is also very pretty!
I can’t wait for the next round of Dolly Sewing Crush!
Who would’ve thought burgundy and pink pair so nicely together.
I think Momoko has found her new favorite colors to wear.
Yay that makes us happy to hear, Neon.
We can’t wait to share June’s looks and chat with you.
