This week we are showcasing the cute and casual Skirt from Doll Sewing Book HANON, the Japanese version with English translations on page 64.
In 18 steps your dolly will have a relaxing skirt to wear.
The directions for the Skirt are written in Japanese and English. Images are included so you can visually see the step by step instructions.
Your Layout For Sewing Success
Steps 1-4 Making the Skirt & Waist Yoke
These steps involve sewing the 2 skirt pieces together and sewing the 4 yoke pieces in pairs, making 2 sets.
Steps 5-13 Gathers & Attaching the Yoke
This section includes gathering the waist, sewing 1 yoke piece to the skirt, then sewing the other yoke piece to the attached yoke and turning the waist yoke right side out.
Steps 14-18 Finishing the Skirt
The final section involves folding the hem, sewing the skirt close and adding snap fasteners and buttons.
Hanon suggests soaking the dress in water, wringing it out and air drying it for a natural look

Final Thoughts:
The skirt would make a nice addition to any dollies wardrobe, our girls enjoy having this skirt in their growing collection.
The skirt is an easygoing style that is equally easy to make for your dolls!
