Definitely yes! Long time doll collector here. I have bought 2nd hand dolls in need of fixing and I’ve accidently broken some of my own doing something stupid. I’ve gotten pretty good with the apoxie sculpt doing some of these repairs. That or finding an alternate body to swap out. I have a lot of Pullips, so that’s been part of collecting them.
I also scuffed up the faceup of Blythe while carrying her around at a con. Which led to me deciding I should replace her fraying pullstring, which caused me to scratch her eyeshadow. I was able to touch her up, and fix the scuff and she’s as good as new.
I don’t recall getting a new doll that was broken, other than having outfits where something had come undone and needed to be stitched or glued to fix.
Hey Jess,
Oh wow, you sound really skilled in repairing your dolls! ๐
Iโm not familiar with apoxie sculpt, what is it used for and how do you use it?
And what technique did you do to repair the scuff on your Blythe?
Our poor girl is in need of some TLC.
Thank so much for taking the time to share your repair experience with us! ๐

Unfortunately yes, many times.
The last month I had to fix the arm on my Pullip because it broke like it was made of butter. ๐๐ง
OOoooh no Sara.
I’m sorry to hear about Pullip’s arm.
Was it an older girl or a new release.
I’m glad to hear that you were able to fix it though.

Definitely! I’ve been collecting fo 14 years and at one point had 200-ish dolls in my collection, things like repairs are inevitable. Loose joints, loose Pullip eyechips, stuff like that. I have a lot of glue troubles with my MH dolls, but that would be a looooong rant.
200 dolls that is amazing!!!!
I honestly can’t picture that many dolls ๐ฎ
Now I’m getting off topic . . . where were we?
Oh right repairs.
Yeah repairs aren’t fun but like you said it’s sadly inevitable. ๐ฅ
