Groove Inc is now part of the Tokidoki distribution family.
This means , that Groove Inc is the distributor of Tokidoki products in Japan.
Remember the Tokidoki Exhibition held in Japan on December 4-12, 2013?
Well, that event also was a celebration of the Tokidoki brand spreading throughout Japan with Groove Inc's help.
Given this latest news, I wonder if there will be more Tokidoki inspired Pullips released in the future.
Me thinks so or at least that’s what 1 attendee posted on Twitter during the Doll Show 39th event.
The image showed a display with 2 Pullip Tokidoki Lunas: the original Luna and a new Luna with pink hair instead of green wearing a different outfit.
Now for the questions:
- Will this "new" Luna be released worldwide
- Will she be "limited" (I detest the word Limited thanks in part to the original Luna which claimed to be limited but quickly flooded the USA market)
- Will she be "limited" to Japan or
- Is she simply a concept doll
Oh, the questions and little to no answers.
We’ll keep you posted if Tokidoki or Groove Inc reveals anything new.
In the mean time, what do you think about this business venture?
Do you think it will have any effect on the Pullip brand (good or bad)?
To me, it's very similar to how Jun Planning was back in the day, a distributor of various toys. I wonder if they are trying to get back to their roots of distribution. I remember their Death Note L statue that I missed out on (sure wish I had that in my collection right now).
I look forward to reading your thoughts,
