One of our goals is to work through Doll Sewing Paper Pattern Textbook Skirts & Pants by Araki Sawako, so we can make patterns for our dolls.
Sadly intimidation always rears its ugly head so the book just stayed on the shelf waiting to be explored.
But 2023 is all about creativity and trying new things!
For this Mon-DOLL Makes, we’re determined to complete a lesson from the book!
Okay determination is at an all time high, now we just need a willing girl to be our model.
Anyone willing to be our model???

The girls are worried about our lack of dolly pattern making skills & don’t want to be embarrassed by the outfit.
After some pleading and convincing that as our pattern making skills develop their wardrobe will expand too, Raven hesitantly agreed, but on ONE condition!
Make her a blouse from Dollfie Dream Sewing Book: Girly Style Spring and Summer . . .
We told her multiple times that we’re not sure if it will fit her but we agreed since those were her terms.
Apparently she’s been secretly looking through the book, and the top she wants is called Frill Sleeve Blouse.
Here she is proudly wearing it!!!
To our surprise Size L fits her well. 😲
The frills are a lovely touch.
She looks stunning in this blouse; we want to make more in different variations… Oh no, we feel like this is distracting us from the task at hand: making Skirts & Pants 🤣

My dolls, books and sewing supplies are still packed away, and I caught a really annoying flu, but I can’t wait to finish unpacking and get to sewing. My Smart Dolls want absolutely everything from this book! And I’d like a fall/winter sequel.
