Mon-DOLL Makes Week 33: Dolly Facial Time

Today we’re giving Allie a facial.

The Plasticizer Migration symptoms she was experiencing were a sticky, dirty face that soap and water would not remove.

We turned to The Definitive Book on the Care and Preservation of Vinyl Dolls and Action Figures and it recommended a specially formulated product called Formula 9-1-1.

Supplies

Formula 9-1-1 Steps:

  • Mix 1 part Formula 9-1-1 and 3 parts water
  • Apply solution on a non-noticeable spot on the doll to see how it interacts with the plastic

We applied the solution on the back of Allie’s head and waited 24 hours to see how she’d react to Formula 9-1-1.

She had no allergic reaction, so we continued with the spa treatment.

We used cotton pads to rub the solution across her face, being careful not to let the liquid enter the openings around her eyes, pull string, or screws.

Once the solution was applied, we used water to remove the Formula 9-1-1 as well as the dirt.

It took 3 rounds of cleaning and 21 cotton pads to restore her radiant beauty.

Oh, my skin feels so clean!

Yay the facial was a success!!!

To maintain her glow, we’re placing Allie on a facial routine because Plasticizer Migration is an ongoing issue.

Continue Allie’s Spa Day in Week 34.

  1. Wow, the before-and-after photos really show how effective the facial was. Allie looks wonderful!

I’d heard good reviews of Twin Pines of Maine products and it seems like the Formula 9-1-1 is very effective. Looking forward to seeing Allie’s next spa treatment next week!

    1. Hey River,

Super glad we gave this product a try!

Couldn’t be happier with the result.

Yay, can’t wait for you to see what’s in store for Allie next!💕

  2. Wow! Allie looks amazing!

I always tend to be a little apprehensive when a company sells their product as a miracle in a bottle, but this seems to be working great.

I will look into these products, but I’ll also have to look for possible alternatives accessible in my country without having to import and deal with customs and extra VAT…

    1. I hope you can add this to your dolly tool kit Neon or like you said an alternative!

We too were apprehensive on buying this product, as there aren’t many reviews on it 🤨

But we are happy we took the plunge as Allie looks like a new girl!

Thanks for chatting with us about a doll enjoying a facial!

  3. This is interesting, thank you. I’d never heard of Formula 9-1-1, and not sure if I would be able to find it over here, but it’s worth knowing about and always good to learn something new!

    1. You’re very welcome Fee Berger! 😊

I hope you can get it someday, it is definitely worth it.

We were pleasantly surprised to see how well it worked on Allie!

Thanks for chatting with us about a doll enjoying a facial!
