Mon-DOLL Makes Week 34: Hair Care Prep

With Allie’s face restored to it’s natural beauty, it’s time to work on her frizzy hair.

For this Mon-DOLL Makes, we watched the Beauty Up Hair Care by Junie Moon

After reviewing all the steps, we gathered all the supplies and wrapped her up like a mummy to prevent water from getting inside of her.

Now it’s time to get to work!

Should I be scared?

It’s our first time washing dolly hair, so we’re curious to see how it turns out.

Continue to Week 35 to see how Allie’s hair turned out.

  1. Ah, the washing of doll hair. I would recommend having a metal teeth comb or brush – used for wigs – for working with doll hair. It tends to work far better than the plastic ones as it’s less inclined to breaking the hair.

I have had to wash some new playline dolls’ hair, because they often come out of the box in a rather bad state. Though my oldest Azone doll is from 2011 and the most I’ve ever had to do to her hair is… well, just gently rearrange it with my fingers. Azones do tend to have the most wonderfully easy to care for hair.

    1. Hiya Z,

      Thanks for the tip! 😀

I will have to give metal comb teeth a try sometime.

I never would’ve known about Playline dolls having not soo great hair out the box.

Thanks for taking the time to chat about dolly hair day! 😊

  2. LOL! That photo! Poor Allie. Don’t worry darling, everything will be okay, you’ll have to endure being held upside down by your legs, with your head in a bowl of water, but the result will be worth it!

Playline dolls often require washing and restyling right after unboxing, and every now and then after that, so I’m not new to the process, as playline dolls were the ones that kicked off my collection.

Funny how that works, because I’ve had my oldest Azone dolls for four years now, and their hair still looks gorgeous. :3

    1. Hey Neon,

Hehe thanks for the keeping Allie calm. 😄

She did great and can’t wait to show off her hair!

Ooh, I didn’t know that Playline dolls’ hair require frequent styling.

Thanks for taking the time to chat about dolly hair day! 😊
