Groove Inc is releasing a new color variant BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT dress featuring the Ambassador of Kawaii; Aoki Misako.
This time she’s draped in brown hues with a little dash of pink and titled Pullip Aoki Misako Favorite Ribbon Chocolate Ver. I believe a life size version of this dress is in the works. I will update this post with links/images when additional info is available. Updated September 23, 2015

She’s scheduled to come out late October 2015
Where To Order
I’m unsure how I feel about this release . . .
I would prefer if Groove released the outfit separately.
The only difference between this version and the original, is the outfit color, Aoki Misako hair style/color, and some minor details to the dress, plus at least with the original you received a bonus nurse outfit.
It’s great for collectors who missed out on the first version . . . however this theory really doesn’t hold up anymore since Groove is producing more of the original.
You can now pre-order her from European shops which means it won’t be too long before
she makes her why to the USA market as well. Click here to order her from Jolie Doll or here to order her from Plastic Pop
It’s difficult when a company makes a doll based on a actual person and it becomes trickier when the doll is release for a 2nd time wearing the same outfit but in different color.
If you are going to do it, it should either be:
A. Doll wearing a totally new attire not a recolored outfit
B. New color variant clothes are sold separately
C. Ultra limited to 500 pieces tops, with a signed certif
icate of authenticity. And because my imagination run wild throw in personally autographed signature
Take for example the many Taeyang Hide dolls. He wasn’t in a recolored outfit but instead he was revamped in an array of clothes with new accessories and some dolls were even limited.
Another example is the beautiful and highly sought after Risa Hirako Dals.
1 Person but 2 totally different styles. Also one version was limited.
I wish Groove did this with Aoki Misako. The Kawaii ambassador is a total cutie who is seen wearing a variety of cute looks, so why would Groove settle for the same look?
Things I love:
- Collaboration between BABY, THE STARS SHINE BRIGHT

Hello!
My first impression when I saw “Baby the Star Shine Bright collaboration” was to jump out of happiness. I really loved their previous models and I was hoping for something very amazing because we’re talking about BTSSB a great line of sweet lolita clothes but… I was a bit disappointed when I see it was only a recoloration.
Yes, I really loved the Favorite Ribbon (I have even ordered her a long time ago) but this time… I’m quite sceptical. Is Groove lacking creativity? However BTSSB propose really beautiful dresses in real life so why only a recoloration? It’s very frustrating. I would have prefer a new model with an exclusive outfit.
In the same time, I really love the face of this doll. I like her new wig with curly pigtails and her make up is slightly different from the original Favorite Ribbon. So I’m going to wait a bit more but in the end, I will probably get her juste for her cute face (also because I’m collecting all the pullip dolls related to lolita fashion brands…).
Hello there Anne Anne-Sophie!
It’s great hearing from you again! ^^
I really appreciate it that you took the time to share your opinion with us about Pullip Aoki Misako Favorite Ribbon Chocolate Ver.
You made some great points.
I was like you, when I saw the announcement, I was super excited and expected to see a new dolly but only saw a re-coloration.
The new version is cute, but I would’ve much preferred a totally new outfit
Oh that’s so cool that you have a collection of lolita girls. I bet your collection is really gorgeous 🙂
