Of all the Pullips recreating famous paintings, this has got to be my favorite piece!
The Kiss by Gustav Klimt (comments below by AGA):
“The Kiss was painted by Gustav Klimt back in 1908 around the’Golden period’ when he did series of glided style paintings. The couple in the painting looks so passionate and comfortable embracing their love. Were-created this piece with Pullip and Taeyang for the Matsuya show last year.We imagined how the real outfits, the robes would look like and focused on the patterns and details like the little flowers in Pullip’s hair. Since we couldn’t pose Pullip’s head like the painting we did an artwork based on her studio shot, but without her neck posed like the original painting it just didn’t feel right. The way she was being kissed was crucial, so we had to detach the head from the body to get it right.”
