Are you ready for March 2016? If not, you better be! Why, because Groove is going to release their first doll from the new Pullip Premium series.
The doll to grace the scene first will be Pullip Premium Kiyomi Mint Ice Cream Version.
I know what you’re thinking, is it even possible for Groove to top the original Kiyomi?
The amazing Pullip Kiyomi from 2012 who Groove stated was “widely loved around the world.”
How do you make a masterpiece even better?
Well, I don’t know . . . but Groove believes they’ve found the secret key that will make long time and new fans fall in love with Pullip Premium Kiyomi.
This latest versions of Kiyomi which I now dub Kiyomi 2.0, stays true to Kiyomi 1.0’s style: colorful, girly, and kigurumi.
It’s pretty much everything you loved about Kiyomi 1.0 but with a slight twist here and there.
But the question remains. Is Kiyomi 2.0 adorable enough to entice Pullip fans around the world to pay the ¥19,000 (approx. $163) to add her to their doll family?
Where To Order
Release Date: November 2016
Price: ¥19,000 about $163
So What Do You Think?
How likely are you to add Kiyomi 2.0 Pullip Premium Kiyomi Mint Ice Cream Version to your doll collection?
Are you happy with Groove’s decision to take popular Pullip dolls and give them color variants?
If you remember the Pullip Regeneration Series of 2012 does this all feel a little like déjà vu or do you prefer how Groove is offering variant colors this time around instead of the fresh clothes/make-up updates?
We’d love to know how you feel - leave a comment in the comment section below . . .

I am VERY excited for this! Even though it’s pretty much the same doll, I love the color variation and I think it will be fun to own both, just like the Mint and Pink versions of the Alice du Jardin or the Pink and Blue Romantic Alices. I love pairs I guess ^.^
Hi Holly,
Thanks for sharing your insight on enjoying dolly pairs.
I guess it’s like they’re twins but each with their own personality 🙂
I wish Groove presented Kiyomi Mint Ice Cream like you did as “twins” vs simply a re-color.
Your way makes her sound way better 😀
Thanks for commenting
This idea is alright, I imagine some fans of kiyomi who didn’t manage to get her the first time around might have a chance to get this version. However, we’ve seen groove recolor pullip for awhile now.
Yeah, this release is nice for those who missed out on the original Kiyomi.
Currently there is a Kiyomi on ebay priced at $1,304.60!
Groove follows the saying “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it” to a T.
Inside the mind of Groove
Original doll was popular so lets release a re-color version instead of a totally new designed doll :p
I wonder if they will break out of this habit.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the Premium Pullip Kiyomi with us!
I think Kiyomi is cute certainly but … I am a little disappointed that this will be the Pullip Premium line which seems to be just a recolour version of previous dolls if this is anything to go by. I was hoping for something new …
I’m sure she’ll find a home with Pullip fans who like to own the different colour versions. I guess I will continue to wait and see.
I understand how you feel. It would’ve been nice if Groove introduce new girls as part of the series vs. re-colored dolls.
Technically doesn’t this mean Merl and Alice du Jardin and whole list of other dolls fall in the Pullip Premium line O_o?
There may still be hope for the anniversary Dal & Taeyang . . . I bet they will have a special Pullip to go along with them.
I’m curious to find out who is next in the Premium lineup.
Hello,
Well I was a bit harsh against her last time ^^’ I attentively watch the pictures of her and I have to say that she has a really cute face. I really love her sparkly eyes. I still don’t like the kigurumi style outfit but if I take her I will sew her a new outfit :3 Damn I don’t know what to do! XD
So… Premium does’nt mean “exclusive to Japan”? Because I don’t see any info about it…
Correct, she isn’t exclusive to Japan and can be purchased at your usual Pullip shop.
I find it interesting that a lot collectors don’t like their dolls in kigurumi style.
I wonder why that is?
I look forward to the next Premium Pullip doll.
