PetWORKs wants you to join them and their garden inspired dolls in dreamland.
December 2016 PetWORKs will release 2 cute Ruruko dolls.
They are twins Ruruko Bird Cage Girl and Ruruko Bird Cage Boy.
That’s right, a girl and boy Ruruko are coming your way.
The twins are wearing outfits designed by Akane Suzuki.
You may know Akane Suzuki as the doll clothing designer behind the brand A-line.
A-line has designed many of PetWORK’s Momoko & Ruruko outfits.

I understand being out of control with dolls. Lucky for me, my dolly fund ran dry (seriously, I have $2 in there right now) so that helped put a stopper on things. I have to slowly save up again (I ended up buying three Momokodolls over the course of a month hence the dried up dolly fund!!).
I ended up going with Tartan Syndrome, Platform Departure and Orion’s Sonata. Worth depleting the funds for though! They’re all gorgeous.
Outside of the doll collecting hobby, I like to draw portraits a lot so when I collect dolls, I’m very drawn to the face so I tend to look at that quite closely. Faces (for me) are the windows to the soul and I love to study faces so I guess that’s translated in some way to doll collecting. The dolls I usually end up purchasing will often be heavily swayed by the face sculpting and face up. In the case of bjds, I tend towards the actual sculpting and ignore the face up so blank photos on company sites are often a must for me.
If this is the new lip style they will be going with for future Ruruko releases, I’m quite pleased. I still plan to get a Ruruko doll one day but I’m still hanging out for ‘The One’.
Hi Alasse Carnesir,
It sounds like you got some really amazing girls.
Tartan Syndrome and Platform Departure tempted me during their announcement.
There were many nights when I would visit and revisit their product page obsessively.
Is the Orion’s Sonata by Sekiguchi? (i had to google it. wasn’t familiar with the doll). She’s very lovely.
I love that line “Worth depleting the funds for though! They’re all gorgeous.”
It sums up everything nicely π
Oh, I understand what you mean.
I don’t want a doll that looks like a “doll.”
I think you articulated that feeling when you said “Faces (for me) are the windows to the soul”
That probably explains why there are times when I’m not feeling a particular doll at all.
They’re missing that captivating face sculpt or face up as you mentioned.
I hope you find “the One” Ruruko.
This year PetWORKs’ has offered more Ruruko dolls then usual.
They may keep this up for 2017. Maybe your Ruruko will be among their future releases π
Thanks so much for sharing your dolly experience with us all.
It was fun. I learned a lot. Thank you.
Tatyana
Is it just me or are the faces on these ones painted slightly different? Not the eyes but the way the lips are done look more custom-like if that makes sense!
They’re both very pretty dolls and I instantly thought of the Pureneemo versions when I saw the promo photos for these. I think I’ll pass on them though. I’m being very selective about which dolls come to stay with me these days. I’m curious to see owner photos though.
Hello Alasse Carnesir,
Wow, you caught the lip details.
Your attention to detail always impresses me π
I did get the sense that something was slightly different with this Ruruko release.
I couldn’t put my finger on it but after reading your comment I went back to PetWORKs release notes and read that both Ruruko dolls have new lips and the girl Ruruko has a new eye brow shape.
How did you develop such a great eye for dolly details?
Is it something that comes naturally to you or something that you developed from collecting and looking at dolls?
I hope my eye for dolly details can be as good as yours some day.
Bravo to your dolly will power.
I’ve succumbed to several dolly temptations this year.
I plan to develop new doll purchasing habits in 2017. I’ve been out of control this year π
Thanks for taking the time to chat about Ruruko Bird Cage Girl and Ruruko Bird Cage Boy.
