Have you heard of Pullip dolls? Well if you haven’t, first know that these dolls have a very large niche following and many people will spend a small fortune in collecting these adorable dolls.

The doll originated in South Korea in 2003 and since then has become a worldwide success. These dolls, usually referred as Pullips, are collectible fashion dolls. The word Pullip itself means blade of grass or leaf. Most of the dolls that are made are female, yet throughout the years the makers, Groove of Korea, have added male companion dolls.
So what makes these dolls so popular? Well for one, the artistic talent and variety of dolls is absolutely breathtaking. Another factor is the mechanics of their eyes; that uses a lever built inside the head, which allows the dolls to blink and look side to side. These dolls also offer customization options that are not seen in many collectible dolls, the ability to change the doll’s eyes and hair easily. Changing the eyes simply requires the use of a screwdriver and the hair is can easily be attached and unattached.
While Pullips come in 3 different body types, they are about 12 inches tall. Throughout the years, the makers have made several changes to the body of Pullip dolls. One of the favorite functions for many collectors is the doll’s flexibility body that can be moved in any direction, allowing for multiple poses.
Every month fans of Pullips are filled with glee as new dolls come out. Each doll made is available for a only limited amount of time before they are discontinued; this is how collectors began to spend the big bucks for a coveted doll. Also to the fans delight, the makers of Pullip offer fashion/accessories, furniture, wigs and even a magazine.
