A Nendoroid Doll is part of Good Smile Company’s (GSC) popular Nendoroid series.
These dolls feature the familiar chibi-style Nendoroid heads, but with a new, doll-like body that’s highly articulated and perfect for dressing up in different outfits, all while keeping that palm-sized charm.
The slightly larger body makes it easy to change clothes, swap accessories, and create expressive displays from favorite character looks to completely original styles.
A standard Nendoroid is a chibi-style figure with a fixed body and limited articulation,
designed primarily for display.
A Nendoroid Doll has the same head style but with a fully poseable body that can wear real clothes.
If you want to change outfits and poses, Nendoroid Dolls is the way to go.
Nendoroid Dolls are made by Good Smile Company, the same brand behind the original Nendoroid figures.
The line first debuted in 2018 with 2 original characters:
*Nendoroid Doll Emily, a cheerful girl with an energetic smile
*Nendoroid Doll Ryo, a calm and composed young man with a gentle expression
These 2 marked the beginning of the beloved series that continues to grow with both original characters and fan-favorite anime and game characters.
Nendoroid Dolls stand at about 10 cm (approximately 4 inches) tall and that’s just the body.
The height doesn’t include the head, which varies slightly depending on the character design.
For current releases, CDJapan, Amazon, AmiAmi, and Good Smile online shop are reliable options.
For discontinued and older releases, eBay is the best secondary market source. See the Where to Find Nendoroid Dolls section above for direct links.
New releases typically retail between $50 up to $150, USD, depending on the character and outfit complexity.
Standalone outfit sets are usually $20–$40 USD.
On the secondary market, popular character releases can sell for significantly more depending on demand.
The term “Archetype” refers to the base body type used for Nendoroid Dolls.
The series began with Archetype: Girl and Archetype: Boy, and later expanded to include: Archetype: Man, Archetype: Woman, and Archetype: Kid
Each of these bodies has the same overall height, about 10 cm (4 inches), except for Archetype: Kid, who stands at around 6.5 cm (2.5 inches).
The main difference between the archetypes is the chest circumference.
The Man and Woman versions are slightly broader than the others.
GSC also released a Nendoroid Doll Height Adjustment Set, which includes parts that add a bit of extra height to the doll’s legs and length to its arms.
For the most part, yes!
Many Nendoroid figure heads can be swapped onto Nendoroid Doll bodies.
However, with nearly 3,000 Nendoroids released, not every head fits perfectly due to sculpt or design differences.
It’s also worth noting that not all Nendoroid skin tones match those used for Nendoroid Dolls, so a little color mismatch can occur when mixing and matching.
Nendoroid Dolls come in four skin tones that help match various Nendoroid figures and character designs: Standard (Peach), Cinnamon, Cream, and Almond Milk
Yes, each Nendoroid Doll includes a poseable stand with a magnetic base, interchangeable hand parts, and a full outfit.
Depending on the character or series, Good Smile may also include special bonus accessories like props or display pieces.
While most Nendoroid Dolls don’t come with extra faceplates, a few have been released with alternate expressions.
Since 2018, Good Smile Company has steadily added new Nendoroid Dolls to the series.
